The most successful Wekiva Girls Soccer season was well received last night at the West metro meetings at Freedom High School. All three girls nominated for first team all-metro made the team; Junior Paxton Sickler (37 goals - 24 Assists), freshman Lea Campopiano (22 goal - 13 assists), and freshman Cortney Shuman (13 goals - 12 assists) were recognized for their efforts for the Mustangs Regional Quarter-Final birth. After failing to garner player of the year honors at the all-state meeting last month, Paxton Sickler was named Metro Player of the Year beating Apopka's Lauren Green out for the honor (Lauren received the honor at FACA all-state). Coach Brian Charboneau received West Metro Coach of the Year for taking the 6-13 girls of 2010 to 15-8-2 in 2011....(more)
